1. All Sessions Are Private by Default
RelAI is built so your relationship conversations belong to you. By default, your session transcripts, partner first names, and bookmarked Session Context items are stored locally on your device. RelAI does not require user accounts, email registration, or cloud profile synchronization.
When creating a session, you can also enable Don't Save to History (Temporary) (badged History Off). Temporary sessions live only in active device memory (RAM) and are never written to local disk persistence; they are permanently cleared when you delete the session or close the app.
2. On-Device AI & Speech Processing
When using the default On-Device AI tier (Apple Intelligence FoundationModels on iOS or Gemini Nano on Android), prompt processing, speech recognition, and offline voice synthesis execute locally on your device without transmitting your conversation to external servers.
3. Private Cloud · Higher Intelligence (RelAI Plus)
If you subscribe to RelAI Plus and select Private Cloud · Higher Intelligence or cloud voice playback:
- Zero Server Retention by ContextLimit:The active conversation turns and bookmarked session context needed to generate a Guide reflection (or synthesize voice audio) are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to ContextLimit's stateless proxy and forwarded to our AI/voice providers (OpenAI and ElevenLabs). ContextLimit does not store, log, or archive your transcripts or audio on its servers.
- No Model Training:API requests made through ContextLimit's Private Cloud are configured so your conversations are never used to train foundation models.
4. Permissions & Consent
- Microphone & Speech Recognition: Requested only when you tap a microphone button to record a partner or solo turn. You can use inline text chat at any time without granting microphone access.
- Partner Consent: When using Partner Mode with another person in the room, ensure both participants consent before recording voice or entering shared conversation turns.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
RelAI Plus subscriptions (llc.contextlimit.RelAI.plus.monthly / .yearly on iOS and llc.contextlimit.relai.plus.monthly / .yearly on Android) are processed directly by Apple (StoreKit) or Google (Google Play Billing). ContextLimit LLC never receives your credit card or billing details—only cryptographic transaction verification and entitlement status.
6. Your Controls & Data Deletion
Because your sessions and context items are stored locally on your device, you have full immediate control over them:
- Swipe or tap delete on any session or message to remove it immediately.
- Clear individual context items in the Session Context sheet.
- Uninstalling the RelAI app removes all locally stored sessions from your device.
